About me

I have backpacked Asia since 1989 lived in Thailand Hua Hin and was on the first tourist plane into Vietnam when the gates opened for tourism in 1990. In 1989 The Thai locals touched my face as it seemed strange to see white skin, as in those days it wasn’t common to see white skin, I travelled for 38 years 200 times to Thailand I purchased a luxury Condominium on the beech front and lived in Thailand Hua Hin. I entered Saigon it was on the first tourist plane into Vietnam when the gates opened for tourism in 1990. The local people cheering as 15 of us came through. Never will I see Vietnam as it was on that year. Enjoy my site presented for you enjoy my site presented for you.

BANGKOK

Sweaty Guesthouse BKK

For at least 10 years from 1988 I stayed here at sweaty Guesthouse I sat on the front table on the left with a German friend in 1990 when we watched CNN broadcast that Vietnam was to open it tourist gates for the first time of course we went in on that first plane.

In August 2017 I took this video below of the cheapest fastest route from the World Trade Centre  at the Pratu Nam Bridge in Bangkok to Banglanpoo at Phanfa Bridge right next to the famous Chao Pho Suea Shrine. It's ten mins from there a walk to Kho San Road a map will show you.

On the way up the klong get off to visit the Jim Thompson House on the left, But go back to the klong to continue just wait for another klong boat.

The river boat from Pratu Nam ferry klong to Banglampoo Phanfa Bridge cost 11 baht very cheap  it takes 7 mins and it runs every 15 mins. The string of clips I have taken of the klong trip, after the map below.
